BRYAN- A scary surprise showed up on the street this morning in Bryan.
A small alligator was found in a residential area on the 800 block of East 26th street Tuesday.
The city's solid waste employees were the first to spot it and called animal control, but no one had the right equipment to capture an alligator.
"It was a four foot gator I'd say," City employee Robert Willis said, who helped capture the alligator, "He was probably a year or two old. He wasn't hard to catch because it was too cold last night... and he was still pretty cold not moving much and with all the other people around he stayed still."
The city employees were able to duct tape his legs and mouth shut and transport him to the Navasota River where he was released.
