BURLESON COUNTY - A pilot is lucky to be alive today after a small plane went down in Burleson County.
Around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, the plane needed to make an emergency landing in a field just west of the Brazos River.
At the time it was flying as part of a USDA study in the area.
"I was shocked it was unbelievable. I've been in this industry for 18 years and I've never witnessed any AG aircraft crashing like that."
The pilot was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital with a leg injury, but is in good condition.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
