BRYAN- Jury selection began today for a man charged with capital murder.
400 people packed the Brazos Center today in Bryan for the first day of jury selection in a capital murder case.
Jurors are being selected for the murder trial of 47 year old Stanley Griffin.
Griffin is charged with murdering 29 year old Jennifer Hailey in her home on Pedernales Drive in College Station.
Police say Hailey was choked to death while her teenage son watched. The incident happened back in September 2010.
After a few hours of presenting information the state attorney and defense team narrowed down potential jurors to 200 people.
"From this point they will be called back in individually to the courthouse for what is called individual voir-dire," said Bailiff with the 361st Court Dan German, "And at that time they will meet with the state and defense team about the case and answer questions and have questions for 50 minutes then they will be dismissed."
The selection process will be completed in the next five weeks.
The trial is expected to start in June.
