MONTGOMERY COUNTY- Deputies arrested two men for several pounds of cocaine and heroin Sunday.
On June 10, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was patrolling Highway 59 in the Splendora area when he noticed a commercial passenger bus that had defective right tail lamp.
After stopping the vehicle officers deployed his K-9 partner and immediately jumped inside the luggage area alerting to an area inside the bus.
The deputy found inside the bus a hidden compartment with around 16 pounds of packaged cocaine, around 7 pounds of heroin and 89 grams of black tar heroin.
The bus driver 54 year Juan Vorrath from Elgin, Illinois and passenger, 29 year old Ramiro Trevino Jr. from San Benito, Texas were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, money laundering and possession of a criminal instrument and placed into the Montgomery County Jail.
The estimated street value of the narcotics is estimated to be $1,000,000 dollars.
