
COLLEGE STATION-Following last Friday's initial results from the state's first round of STARR testing for third through ninth graders, we are getting a look at how College Station Independent School District did.
Using this year's easier standards, in Algebra One, CSISD students did very well with a 95 percent passing rate. For English One-Reading 82 percent passed while 72 percent passed for English One-Writing. As for Biology, 99 percent of students passed.
However, using the stricter standards that will eventually be in place the results weren't favorable. Only 44 percent achieved level three in Algebra One. 17 percent in English One-Reading followed by ten percent in English One-Writing. Only 42 percent passed Biology.
